Question;
Construct an effective electrical circuit for a house and demonstrate it through modelling it on a diorama. Create a switch that will automatically turn on the power to the circuit using the knowledge gained from the previous lesson on how switches work in a circuit. (For an extension activity include a timer delay). Phase 1 Revise last weeks lesson on the criteria for an effective lighting circuit in a modern public building. Ask the students if the criteria would suit a home as well or if they would make adjustment to the criteria. (last weeks criteria designed by the students) Criteria for lighting circuit in a public building 1. Effective for the activity that is undertaken there. 2. Economical - public funding considerations 3. Ecological - using less energy means conserving natural resources 4. Designed to allow natural light to enhance the electrical lighting. Phase 2 Invent a design for the lighting circuit the student would like to use that will suit the diorama they have been given. This should be accompanied by a justification of why they have chosen either a Series or Parallel circuit and checked by the educator before proceeding to the task. Teacher information The teacher would illustrate with a floor plan of a house. Students would draw a floor plan of the diorama house and proceed with their individual task. Phase 3 Complete the task for this lesson; Construct an effective electrical circuit for a house with an automatic switch and demonstrate it through modelling it on a diorama. |
